Dominique’s Art Deco Crochet Wedding Dress, Beaded with Freshwater Pearls

Before her wedding to Alexis, Dominique Calvillo designed and crocheted her own wedding dress entirely by hand in Los Angeles, the same way she creates every custom crochet wedding gown for her brides.

Inspired by the Art Deco styles of the 1920s, the gown was designed to capture the romantic, tropical feel of the celebration and was finished with freshwater pearls, crystals and glass beads.

“Making my own wedding dress was a unique and wonderful experience. I was inspired by the art deco styles of the 1920’s but wanted to capture the romantic and tropical theme of the wedding. I beaded the dress with freshwater pearls, crystals and glass beads.” — Dominique Calvillo
