Design Consultation

Meet with Dominique in person in Los Angeles or by video call to refine the silhouette, fit and details of your gown. You will receive a quote with installment options.

Handmade for You

Your gown is crocheted entirely by hand, and you approve each stage before the next begins. It is finished with a final fitting in person or shipped ready for your day.

Crochet Wedding Gowns Made for the Coast

Crochet is made for warm-weather and destination weddings. The open stitchwork breathes in the heat, moves with the ocean breeze and photographs beautifully in natural light. Because crochet is built stitch by stitch, it molds to the shape of the body and drapes in a way that is incredibly flattering, following every curve without feeling stiff or heavy.

Each gown is designed with you and made entirely by hand in Los Angeles, finished with freshwater pearls, crystals or glass beading if you wish. Gowns pack and travel easily, with no structured boning or layers of tulle to crush in a suitcase. Brides marrying in Mexico, Hawaii, Panama, Europe and beyond are welcome, with consultations by video call and gowns shipped ready for the day.

Sasha in her Las Pearlas Dress in Panama

“I had a vision for a crochet dress dripping in pearls,” Sacha says. She did a quick search for LA-based knitters and discovered Dominique Calvillo of Namaste & Crochet. “Dominique’s page was the first I clicked on. It felt like the universe dropped the right person right into my lap. She was so positive, easygoing and wonderful.” Sacha continues: “We worked together to come up with a design by combining elements of samples she had already made—the back of that dress with the front of this top, this skirt, but add a slit, train, ruffle—until we came up with a totally new design. After our initial design meeting, we had one fitting, a few adjustments—more pearls!—and the dress was ready.”

Dominique + Alexis

“Making my own wedding dress was a unique and wonderful experience. I was inspired by the art deco styles of the 1920’s but wanted to capture the romantic and tropical theme of the wedding. I beaded the dress with freshwater pearls, crystals and glass beads.”
